Battery Maintenance Method
Sep 17, 2020
The maintenance method of the battery should be carried out by the maintenance personnel designated by the maintenance unit to maintain the battery pack, and follow the steps in the operation form to be implemented step by step. So what are the maintenance items and requirements for battery maintenance?
1. Maintenance personnel should regularly inspect the battery packs and DC charging devices, deal with problems promptly if found, and report major problems immediately.
2. The tools and protective equipment dedicated to the battery should be placed in the dedicated inspection room of the battery room, kept clean, placed in an orderly manner, and kept in good condition. It is strictly forbidden to use it for other purposes.
3. The operating personnel check the battery according to the value, and the voltage and temperature measurement records more than 2 times a month. The inspection contents are:
4. Check the voltage and temperature (room temperature) of the battery without fault alarm. If there is a fault alarm, check the battery on site and notify the maintenance and treatment in time.
5. Use an infrared thermometer to measure the temperature of the battery.
6. Check the integrity of the battery appearance. The battery shell should be free of cracks, deformation and leakage.
7. Whether there is acid mist overflowing around the battery pole and safety valve, and whether the battery connection strip is corroded.
8. The room is clean, well ventilated, and temperature is normal.
9. The DC charging device is operating normally and the instructions are correct.
10. The maintenance personnel should include each group of batteries and DC charging devices in the scope of the daily inspection equipment. If the DC power supply device is found to be abnormal, it should be handled and reported in time.
11. The maintenance personnel should check and record the cell voltage value of each battery pack every month, whether the connection piece is loose or corroded, whether the shell is leaking or deformed, whether there is acid mist overflowing around the pole and the safety valve, and insulation Whether the resistance drops, whether the battery temperature is too high, etc., find abnormalities and report them in time.
12. Battery operation requirements:
13. During the floating charge operation of the battery pack, the floating charge voltage of the single cell is controlled within the range of 2.23V to 2.28V, and the current set value is 2.25V.
The maximum temperature does not exceed 45°C.
14. When the float voltage is 2.23V2.28V, the voltage can be reduced to 1.85V in the case of short-time high-current discharge, but if there is no load or the load is very small, the single battery float voltage must be 2.23V2.28V In between, the voltage is allowed to rise to 2.5V for a short time.
15. Valve-controlled battery charging method
16. Constant current and voltage limiting charging. Use I:o current to charge the battery. When the battery terminal voltage rises to (2.30~2.35) V, the limit voltage value (power section 2.35?04=244.4V control section 2.35?2=122.2v), automatic or manual Switch to constant voltage charging.
17. Constant voltage charging. Under the constant voltage charging of (2.302.35) V, the I:o current gradually decreases. When the charging current decreases to 0.1Iio current and remains unchanged for 3 hours, the charging device will automatically or manually switch to normal floating. During charging operation, the float voltage value is controlled at 2.23~2.28)v (power section 2.25?04=234V control section 2.25?2=117V).
18. Supplementary charging. In order to make up for the undercharge caused by improper adjustment of the floating charge current during operation, set the time (usually 3 months) according to the need to manually perform a constant current and voltage limiting charge-constant voltage charge-floating charge process.
19. Check discharge of valve-controlled battery:
Long-term use of the floating charging mode with voltage limiting and current limiting or the operating mode with only voltage limiting but not current limiting cannot determine the current capacity of the valve-regulated battery and whether the internal water loss or cracking. The check discharge must be carried out regularly to find out the problems of the battery. Newly installed or overhauled battery packs should undergo a full verification discharge test, and then a full verification discharge test every 23 years. Valve-controlled batteries after 6 years of operation should be subject to a verification discharge test every year.
When carrying out the full verification discharge test of the battery pack, discharge the battery pack with an I:o current constant current. When the voltage of one battery cell in the battery pack drops to 1.80V, stop the discharge and record. Pay attention to the following during the verification discharge of the battery:
20. The battery is discharged by a discharge meter, and the discharge meter and the battery are fixedly connected with wire lug bolts, and clamps are not allowed to connect to ensure reliable connection. Refer to the battery parameter table for discharge current.
21. Before the charging and discharging test of the battery pack, carefully check whether the connections of all connecting strips are tight.
23. Special personnel should be arranged to monitor the charging and discharging test of the battery pack, and adequate fire fighting equipment should be provided.
24. When the battery is discharged, it must be withdrawn from the DC system and discharged separately to allow the adjacent DC battery pack to carry the load of this group.
25. Before discharging, measure the entire battery voltage, single battery voltage, battery temperature, etc., and make records. During the discharging process, note that any battery is not allowed to be lower than 1.80V to prevent over-discharge. After the discharge starts, measure the ambient temperature, battery shell and terminal temperature, battery terminal voltage, single battery terminal voltage, and discharge current every hour. , Discharge time, and make a record. It is found that the voltage of individual batteries drops too fast, and drops to 1.80V prematurely. The check discharge test should be stopped, and the secondary battery continues to discharge.
26. The check discharge test is mainly to test the performance of the entire battery pack and the problems of the battery. At the same time, the capacity of the battery pack can be restored through the check discharge; after 23 full check discharges, the capacity of the battery pack is up to If the battery is less than 80% of the rated capacity, it can be considered that the battery has failed. Considering the safety of the equipment, replacement should be arranged.
27. After the check discharge is over, let it stand for 1 to 2 hours, and then it will be recharged, using constant current limiting voltage charging-constant voltage charging-floating charging.
28. Pay attention to personal and equipment safety during check discharge.
29. After each check discharge test, the tester shall record the relevant data according to Appendix A, fill in the test report according to Appendix B, and go through the relevant acceptance procedures.
30. Battery inspection:
Proper maintenance and inspection of the battery can extend the life of the battery and help determine whether its capacity meets the design requirements. The maintenance of the battery must be carried out by personnel who have knowledge of the battery and have safety protection measures.
31. Monthly inspection
The following items should be routinely checked and recorded every month:
a) Measure the total float voltage at the battery pack end; b) the output current and voltage of the charger; c) the ambient temperature, ventilation conditions and monitoring equipment; d) inspect the individual cells according to the following items:
1) Integrity of the single battery: whether there are signs of corrosion on the poles, connecting wires, and battery racks;
2) Whether the battery shell and battery rack need to be cleaned and maintained;
3) The integrity of the battery cover, and check whether the single battery has cracks or electrolyte leakage;
4) Whether the battery shell and battery cover are deformed.
32. Seasonal inspection
The quarterly inspection shall include all the contents of the monthly inspection, and check and record the following items, and compare with the initial value:
a) The internal resistance of the single battery; (when possible) b) the internal resistance of the connecting strip; (when possible) c) the temperature of each single battery in the battery pack;
6.10.3. Semi-annual inspection
Semi-annual inspection should include all the contents of monthly inspection and quarterly inspection, and record the voltage of each single battery.
6.10.4. Annual inspection and initial inspection
Annual inspection and initial inspection include all the contents of monthly inspection, quarterly inspection, and semi-annual inspection, and the following items are checked and recorded:
a) The connection resistance between all cells of the entire battery pack; b) The ripple current and voltage superimposed on the battery pack. (Proceed when conditions permit)
33. Special inspection
If the battery pack has abnormal conditions (such as high current discharge to the load, overcharge or ultra-high ambient temperature, etc.), then the battery pack needs to be tested once to confirm that the battery pack is not damaged. The inspection content is the same as that required by the annual inspection.
34. The spare valve-controlled battery shall be recharged every 3 months.
35. The battery pack can be subjected to a partial discharge test according to the actual situation (such as after replacing individual batteries), that is, the check discharge method is adopted, but the discharge current is 0.5TicA, and the discharge suspension condition is 30% to 40% of the rated capacity; When recharging, the supplementary charging method is adopted.
36. The indoor ventilation and lighting of the battery should be intact. During the entire charging and discharging process, the ventilator should be put into operation to maintain smooth ventilation. The ventilator should be put into operation first during daily inspections.
37. It is strictly forbidden to ignite or smoke in the battery room, and it is strictly forbidden to install electrical appliances and electric furnaces that may generate sparks. At the entrance of the battery room, use large letters to indicate the words "battery room" and "no fireworks". And equipped with fire-fighting equipment that meets relevant requirements.
38. The battery packs and DC charging devices in operation should be systematically inspected and maintained once a year. The standby DC charging device should be in a good standby state.
39. The maintenance of the maintenance-free battery should be strengthened at the same time for the maintenance of the DC power supply device. The focus should be on checking that the DC power supply device and the insulation monitoring device should operate well in the automatic and manual positions. Whether the output value of the charger meets the standard and whether the indication is correct. Any abnormality should be checked and repaired in time and recorded.
